Farm Visit Information

• Reservations: Farm visits must be booked at least 24 hours in advance.
• Price: The listed price is for your entire group, not per person.
• Age Requirement: Farm visits are for guests 10 years of age and older.
• Waitlist: If your preferred date isn't available, or if the date you want is more than two months away, be sure to join the waitlist. You'll be the first to know when new dates are released. If the dates you're looking for aren't currently listed, keep checking back, as additional dates are added regularly.
• Location: Our farm is located in Bakersville, North Carolina (28705).

Please do not use the Google Maps location for Happy Hens & Highlands. It will take you to our P.O. Box, approximately 20 minutes from the farm. The exact farm address and directions will be sent immediately after your booking is confirmed.

Most tours are led by Kasey, a longtime member of our farm team. She has spent years working alongside our Highland cattle and knows each one by name, personality, and temperament. She'll guide you through your visit, introduce you to the herd, answer questions, and help make your experience both safe and memorable.

Our Highland cattle have more than 50 acres of pasture to roam, so their location changes throughout the day. We will drive you by side-by-side to wherever the cattle are located that day. Sometimes they'll be in an open pasture, while other times they'll be farther back in the woods.

This is not a petting zoo. Our cattle live naturally on pasture and are never confined or moved simply for tours. Every visit takes place in their environment, and the cows set the pace. Some days they'll be curious and want plenty of attention. Other days they may prefer to graze, relax, or explore another part of the pasture. Every visit is unique because we believe our animals' welfare comes first.

The terrain is uneven and can be muddy depending on the weather. Please wear closed-toe shoes and clothing that you don't mind getting dirty.

Cancellation Policy: All bookings are non-refundable. If you need to change your reservation, your tour must be rescheduled at least 72 hours in advance.
