Why I Helped Build HoofnHorn
Long before there were online livestock marketplaces, I was a kid flipping through the Iwanna classifieds here in Western North Carolina, calling strangers about animals I knew perfectly well my dad wouldn't let me buy. Finding the right animal has always been exciting to me, and it still is.
I've raised registered Scottish Highland cattle since I started Happy Hens & Highlands in 2014, and I've spent years on just about every side of this breed: buying, selling, marketing cattle online, and running the Southeast Highland Cattle Show & Sale. I've also been scammed myself trying to buy livestock online. That's a big part of why HoofnHorn exists.
Buyers are searching Facebook groups, breeder pages, and classifieds for the right animals, while good breeders are trying to get their cattle in front of the right buyers. My co-founder, Jason Beckett, and I built HoofnHorn to give both sides a better place to find each other, with more trust and better information along the way.
