Farmland > Wasteland.
I live on a farm, so to me this is more than a catchy phrase on a shirt.
Every year, more farmland disappears. Once a pasture is paved, a farm is divided up, or productive ground is developed, getting that land back into agriculture is nearly impossible. And we cannot keep talking about supporting farmers while ignoring the fact that farmers need land to farm.
That is where this design came from.
Farmland > Wasteland is pretty simple. I would rather see cattle in a pasture than another piece of good ground lost. I would rather see land producing food, supporting livestock and staying in the hands of people willing to take care of it.
The artwork is intentionally rough and distressed, with a Highland cow worked into layers of black, gray and red. It has a graffiti and punk protest-poster feel instead of looking like a traditional farm shirt, which is exactly why it belongs in our Rural Rebellion collection.
This version is printed on a women’s Comfort Colors heavyweight boxy tee. It has a relaxed, oversized shape with a slightly cropped length and pigment-dyed finish that gives it a soft, already-lived-in feel.
